What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of text a website stores in your browser so it can remember something between page loads — like whether you're signed in.
Cookies we use
We use a session cookie to keep an administrator signed in to the admin area, and, on some pages, to remember your progress through a multi-step quiz so you don't have to start over if you navigate back. These are considered "essential" cookies for the features they support.
Analytics and advertising measurement
We use Google Tag Manager to load measurement tags, including Google Analytics 4. These tools can use cookies or similar identifiers to measure visits and interactions, including clicks on phone links. A phone-link click does not establish that a call connected or that a policy was purchased. The cookies and requests that occur depend on the tags in use and browser settings. Separately, our first-party page statistics use a random browser-tab identifier in sessionStorage instead of a long-lived visitor cookie. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals suppress that first-party measurement.
Advertising cookies (Google AdSense)
ApexTrusted may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to ApexTrusted and/or other sites on the Internet.
Use Privacy settings in the footer to accept, reject or customize optional tracking, and to change your choice later. The first-party preference tool is not a Google-certified IAB TCF consent platform. Personalized AdSense advertising for visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom or Switzerland requires a separately configured, Google-certified consent platform. Accepting this banner does not establish that requirement is satisfied. Ads are separate from editorial research and the paid referral phone line.
Managing cookies
Privacy choices are saved in localStorage under apex_privacy_v1 for up to 180 days. Optional first-party visit measurement stays off until you allow site usage measurement. The existing Google Tag Manager container loads only when both optional choices are enabled; otherwise it stays blocked. Withdrawing Google consent reloads the page to stop loaded tags. We also remove accessible measurement cookies and our visit-session storage when optional consent is removed. Browser restrictions may prevent removal of some third-party cookies. Most browsers let you view, block, or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking session cookies may prevent some features — like staying signed in to the admin area or resuming a quiz — from working correctly, but the rest of the site remains usable.
Changes
We update this page when the measurement tools or cookies used by the website change meaningfully.
